TULSA - EMSA is making several changes after a review of its operations.
The city of Tulsa review found about 50 areas needing improvement. They presented the findings Wednesday afternoon at EMSA's monthly board meeting.
Among the issues found in the report:
- Delays between date of service and when patient is billed
- Inefficient way of identifying patients' address and processing payments
- Ineffective communication with customers about TotalCare utility fee program
"We've taken some steps to improve the statements that we send to patients and then we're also working on some new tactics to communicate more than just once a year during the renewal period, but communicate at each touch point along the way throughout the year about the TotalCare Program," said Kelli Bruer, EMSA director of Communications and Public Relations.
