TULSA - A woman was killed by a hit-and-run driver while crossing a midtown Tulsa street Tuesday night, police say.
The woman was previously thought to be elderly but has since been identified as 57-year-old Angela Marie Young.
Young, with the assistance of a walker, was walking north on Lewis Avenue inside a crosswalk that passes through 3rd Street's intersection around 7 p.m. when a driver traveling west on 3rd Street struck her.
The van, possibly a white Ford Windstar, continued on. Authorities believe the front of the van might have sustained damage.
Police did not immediately have a good description of the driver but are hopeful a nearby business' surveillance video will offer more information.
