Keystone Lake crash victim identified, OHP believes heavy fog, ice caused driver to lose control

The man killed in Thursday's fatal accident on Keystone Lake bridge near Sand Springs has been identified.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers confirmed Thursday afternoon Sand Springs native William Altebaumer, 31, died after losing control of his car and going over an embankment.

Altebaumer's vehicle came to rest approximately 150 yards from the highway and was partially submerged in the lake.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say ice and heavy fog likely caused the accident. A second crash also resulted from the fatal accident as vehicle hit a parked emergency vehicle. That crash resulted in minor injuries.

The interstate was fully reopened shortly before noon.
