Tulsa police make arrest in city's 8th homicide in 8 days

TULSA - Tulsa police have made an arrest in the city's eighth murder in as many days.

Detectives arrested 48-year-old Robert Hill around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at a pool hall near 51st and Memorial.

He's a suspect in a stabbing three-and-a-half hours earlier near 7th and Lewis.

Police found a 28-year-old man in a parking lot behind an apartment with a serious stab wound to the neck.  He died a short time later at the hospital.

The victim's name hasn't been released and there's been no word on what lead up to the stabbing.

Tulsa homicide detectives, gang unit officers and the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force were all involved in tracking down and arresting Hill.

The murder follows a bloody Monday in the Tulsa area in which five homicides occurred.

The city's early murder total is in stark contrast to 2012, which had 46 murders -- the lowest homicide rate in 10 years.
