Disaster recovery center opens for wildfire victims Monday

TULSA - Help is available for people trying to get back on their feet after wildfires swept through parts of Oklahoma.

On Monday, a disaster recovery center opened its doors for the victims in Creek County.

The State Department of Emergency Management, FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration are setting up shop in Mannford to help residents apply for help.

The recovery center opened at noon and is located next to the public library in Mannford.

FEMA says residents only have a limited amount of time to apply for federal aid and the agency will respond on a first come first serve basis.

To begin applying for aid, call 1-800-621-FEMA or 1-800-462-7585 for hearing and speech impaired residents. The toll free numbers will be open between 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
