TULSA - Tulsa County sheriff's deputies arrested a man in bed this week after they say he fled a traffic stop.
Tyriest Martin, 20, was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on more than $70,000 bond.
According to the arrest report, a deputy tried to stop Martin just after midnight Tuesday for a defective tag light, but Martin fled the car into an apartment complex near South 61st West Avenue and West 11th Street.
Deputies say Martin entered an apartment and when they went in after him a woman told them she was alone in the apartment. As they searched the unit, they found Martin in bed in his boxer shorts and his clothes nearby with a gun tucked under his hooded sweatshirt.
According to the report, deputies smelled marijuana in the apartment, despite Martin saying there were no drugs there. They found brass knuckles on an entertainment center and while looking in a drawer for other weapons deputies say they found a box with marijuana bulbs.
Both Martin and the woman were arrested. Martin is facing charges for armed robbery, obstructing a police officer, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of a stolen vehicle, possible of marijuana with intent to distribute, failure to stop at a stop sign and operating a motor vehicle without a license.
