Investigators to begin searching Delaware County backyard Friday for missing man

DELAWARE COUNTY, Okla. -- Delaware County investigators plan to search a backyard Friday in hopes of finding a man missing since March.

Twenty-year-old Dustin Carver was last seen March 3. His girlfriend later reported him missing.

Carver's mother told Kansas police she last saw him hanging out down the street at a friend's trailer in Twin Oaks.

That friend, 31-year-old James Larson, is now a person of interest in Carver's disappearance, according to Delaware County Captain Gayle Wells.

Officials say Larson was arrested April 3 on DUI complaints. Police also found a shot gun in his vehicle at the time of the arrest.

Police said two men told them a man was buried in the backyard of Larson's trailer.

Wednesday, several law enforcement agencies searched the home. They found a stolen welder, tools and a four-wheeler. Cadaver dogs specializing in human remains picked up on a spot in the backyard.

Thursday, a judge to signed off on a separate search warrant, specifically for digging in the backyard.

Investigators are set to resume the search at 9 a.m. Friday.

Larson is nowhere to be found.
