David Ernst, found guilty in Kellyville crash killing four, discovered dead in Creek County Jail

SAPULPA - According to Creek County officials, the man recently convicted of killing four Kellyville residents in a car crash on Route 66 in 2012 was found dead in jail early Tuesday. 

David Ernst, 53, was found guilty for all four counts of first degree manslaughter for the deaths of 74-year-old Vernon Bowles, 74-year-old Susie Frazier, 51-year-old Vivian Henry and a 9-year-old Alex.

Assistant DA Mike Loeffler confirmed the death of Ernst after he was discovered around 5 a.m. Officials believe the injuries were self-inflicted.

The death of Ernst is under investigation, according to Loeffler.
