Criminal defense attorney pleads guilty to role in embezzlement

TULSA - A Tulsa criminal defense attorney found himself in need of a lawyer of his own.

Fred Schraeder has pleaded guilty to helping embezzle more than $1 million from clients.  For his plea, a judge gave Schraeder a five-year deferred sentence.

He was ordered to pay more than $36,000 in restitution, among other fines.

The state attorney general alleges Schraeder and his partner, William Anton, embezzled money from 49 clients.
