TULSA - Cox Communications says a days-long email outage affecting customers in several states is now repaired.
As of 9 a. m. Monday email has been restored to all customers who were affected by the outage, said Kristin Peck, Cox Communications vice president of government and public affairs.
Thousands of customers in Oklahoma and several other states have been without email access since Friday.
Peck said customers who lost access will receive their emails over the next few days. They will arrive gradually and may not be in chronological order.
The outage did not affect Cox Business customers.
"We deeply regret the impact this outage has had on our customers and truly appreciate their patience as all Cox resources continue to be focused on this restoration effort," said Peck.
Over the weekend Peck said the issue was with the email storage platform. She said Monday Cox will move forward replacing equipment and implementing measures of prevent a recurrence of these issues.
