Classes at Tulsa Community College Metro Campus canceled after fire; building without power

TULSA - Classes are canceled Tuesday at Tulsa Community College's Metro Campus in downtown Tulsa after an electrical fire.

A transformer blew in the basement Monday, sparking the fire.

School officials are examining the extent of the damage Tuesday, trying to determine how long repairs will take.

The building has no power and PSO says that is expected to be the case throughout the day.

Crews spent the overnight hours ventilating smoke from the building and report part of the building sustained water damage.

For now, TCC officials are trying to find alternative sites for the affected classes.
