Storm damage forces Claremore hospital to transport patients

CLAREMORE, Okla.- Severe weather hit Claremore Thursday evening leaving behind flooding and structural damage. 

According to Hillcrest Hospital Claremore patients have been evacuated due to power outages and flooding inside the building. 

Rogers County Emergency Management say some patients have been transported to Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa, and more could be transported if the power remains out. 

Hillcrest Hospital released the following statement:

"The storm that came through Claremore included strong winds that resulted in isolated at Hillcrest Hosptial Claremore. The safety of our patients is our top priority. The team has placed the Emergency Room on divert, and as needed, patients have been transported to Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa. Our team remains vigilant in providing exceptional care to our patients. We will continue to monitor and assess the situation."

Rogers County Emergency Management says high winds have also caused roof damages and down trees in the city. 

No injuries have been reported.
