Civil Air Patrol cadets perform unknown soldier ceremony over Memorial Day weekend

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - To commemorate the Memorial Day Holiday, Civil Air Patrol volunteers annually re-enact the ceremonies performed at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington.

The young men are carrying on a 20 year tradition and spend their entire weekend at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow.

"I love it.  I'm touched, I'm honored, I'm very impressed at my son.  He just turned 16 years old but it's an honor to come out and pay respect for those that have sacrificed and served,   John Geddie, father of one of the cadets, said.

More than 3,000 veterans are buried in Floral Haven.

The cadets will perform the ceremonies every half-hour during the day and every hour at night through the weekend.

All performances are open to the public.
