City reports storm debris cleanup more than halfway complete; more than 41,000 cubic yards collected

TULSA - City of Tulsa officials say debris removal is more than halfway complete after last month's summer storm.

Only 75 zones remain after crews have already cleared about 110, city spokesman Bob Bledsoe said Monday.

Debris removal crews are working six days a week, 10 hours a day to remove debris from the July 23 storm.

Initial estimates for debris removal were that it would take around a month and collection appears to be on track, said Bledsoe.

More than 110 city workers have collected more than 41,000 cubic yards of debris so far, which Bledsoe says would cover 160 football fields three feet deep.
