TULSA - Following January's quadruple homicide at Fairmont Terrace, city leaders have made it their goal to clean up the neighborhood and provide a safer place to live.
In an effort to combat crime in the 61st and Peoria neighborhood, the City of Tulsa is asking residents to join a new task force.
The new Quality of Life Task Force is focusing on issues like safety, health, education, social services and finances.
City leaders will interview anyone who wants to be involved before setting up committees.
A meeting for residents and task force leaders is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at One Technology Center near 2nd and Cincinnati in downtown Tulsa. City leaders say buses will be available to take residents from the neighborhood to the meeting.
We'll have more on the meeting tonight on 2NEWS at 5, 6 and 10.
