TULSA, Okla. --  Hundreds of people filled the Antioch Baptist church on Saturday as they celebrated Terence Crutcher’s life. He lost his life more than a week ago after Tulsa Police Officer Betty Shelby shot and killed him.

Crutcher family friend, Cornelius Love said he grew up with Crutcher’s father. He drove all the way from Dallas to pay his respects to the Crutcher family.

“I called him I texted him I knew he was bombarded with well wishes and I made it clear in my text that I’d be there,” said Love.

Inside the service, people sang, prayed and spoke  about Crutcher. They described him as a kindhearted father son and brother. Even outside the service people paid respects by lining the street up to the church doors.

“My heart is breaking that this is going on here so I really can’t do anything else, but I can come out here and pay respects to this person that this happened to,” said Supporter Vana Slaten.

“I just want the Crutcher family to know that I’m here and I love them. That’s the best thing I can tell them, because nothing I can say can bring Terence back,” said Love.
