New main dock reconstruction project, upgrades to double Port of Catoosa's shipping capacity

The Tulsa Port of Catoosa has begun working on a main dock reconstruction project.

The project will allow for more than one million tons to be transported down the Arkansas River each year.

“That's going to double our capacity that's going bring out ability to handle a million tons per year here at the port over this dock, steel pipe and other bulk items,” said Port of Catoosa Deputy Director David Yarbrough.

With the dock renovations, the Tulsa Port Authority believes more shipments will be diverted from the port of LA Long Beach to the Port of Catoosa.
