Police say they later discovered that evidence pointed to a staged suicide. After investigating, police learned that 69-year-old Judith Nix allegedly shot her husband, 69-year-old Kenneth Nix.

According to police, Nix also spoke with her two daughters throughout the day, confessing to the crime.

Nix's daughter, 43-year-old Michel Davis-Pearson, was also arrested for accessory after the fact.
