Domestic dispute in Broken Arrow leads to police standoff; suspect removed from house by officers

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - A standoff in Broken Arrow came to an end early Friday morning without incident.

Police say it began as a domestic dispute just before 8 p.m. Thursday at the home on South 116th East Avenue.

Officers were called to the scene after a woman fled the home to a neighbor's house.

Police say the woman's husband, 40-year-old Jack Campbell, choked his wife and said they were "both going to die tonight.

Police say Campbell shut himself inside the home and refused to talk to officers for hours.

Eventually police shot tear gas into the home but Campbell still refused to exit.

Around 1:40 a.m. officers busted into the home and found Campbell hiding in the attic.

His wife was treated at the scene while he was arrested for domestic assault and battery by strangulation and resisting arrest.

Broken Arrow police are expected to release more details about what happened later in the day.
