PD: Broken Arrow man arrested for dognapping

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - A Broken Arrow man was arrested after a woman reported that her dog had been stolen.

Police say a woman living near Elm and Kenosha told police that her white boxer puppy had been taken from her yard around 4:30 p.m. Friday.

A witness told police she had seen a man driving a maroon Chevy Tahoe take the puppy from the fenced area of the victim's yard.

Police say the witness then drove around the neighborhood and found the suspect's vehicle.

Investigators say the victim's friend had already recovered the dog by the time they arrived, but the suspect, 29-year-old Gregory Sonnenberg, had the dog's collar tag with the dog's name, owner's address and phone number in his pants pocket.

Officer say Sonnenberg told them he found the puppy wandering in the street.

Sonnenberg was booked at the Tulsa County jail on one count of larceny of dog.
