Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce aims at helping restaurant owners recover after water emergency

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - The water emergency in Broken Arrow is over and the Chamber of Commerce is looking to help local businesses that took a hit.

Friday is "Take Your Employees to Lunch Day."  Local restaurants were forced to close during the water emergency and lost out on a day's worth of business.

With the hope of recovering some of the revenue there's a big push to fill seats in Broken Arrow Friday.

A water main break Tuesday shut down restaurants Wednesday.  They were closed for about 36 hours and it meant the loss of thousands of dollars for their owners.

Some servers say they lost up to 25 percent of their weekly pay when restaurants were closed.

"Take Your Employee to Lunch Day" is not just aimed at BA residents.  Anyone in Green Country is invited to help support the community and visit a BA restaurant Friday.
