WILBURTON, Okla. (AP) -- The body of a drowning victim has been recovered from Carlton Lake at Robbers Cave State Park in southeastern Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the body of 26-year-old Enrique Aquino Mendez of Stigler was found Monday night in seven feet of water by searchers using sonar and dragging equipment.

The OHP says Mendez was in a canoe with two other men on Sunday when the canoe overturned.

Troopers say two of the men were rescued by a person in a paddle boat, but Mendez disappeared under the water and did not resurface.

The OHP says none of the three men were wearing flotation devices.
