WASHINGTON CO., Okla. - A Washington County Sheriff's deputy is being hailed a hero after he pulled an injured man away from his car that was on fire following a crash.

Body cam video showed the moment Deputy Carey Duniphin arrived on scene and found Alex Solis-Rangell next to his car in a ditch. The accident happened Sunday at approximately 8:20 a.m. in northern Washington County.

Duniphin slid down the ditch and made his way to Solis-Rangell who was on his hands and knees on the ground next to the passenger side of the burning vehicle. Solis-Rangell's left leg was broken and he was unable to walk.

Duniphin told Solis-Rangell to lay on his back, and the deputy grabbed him under his arms and pulled him about 10 yards up the bank out of the water and away from the car.

Rangel was flown to a hospital in Tulsa.
