Man arrested on charges of first-degree rape, rape by instrumentation while victim was intoxicated

TULSA -- A Bixby man has been arrested and charged with two counts of rape.

Felony charges were filed in the Tulsa County District Court against Kyle Jay Courtney, 20, Feb. 13 for first-degree rape and rape by instrumentation.

According to court documents, Courtney used inanimate objects to allegedly rape a woman “against her will and consent” who “was too intoxicated to give consent.”

The incident took place May 11, 2013.

Courtney was arrested in Sand Springs Sunday afternoon when an anonymous caller advised police he was in the area.

He was transported to Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office and held on a $60,000 bond.

Records indicate Courtney posted bail and was released Monday morning.
