BIXBY, Okla. - The city of Bixby will be offering its residents free debris disposal at the Quarry Landfill in Tulsa for two weekends next month.
On Nov. 9 and 10, and again on Nov. 16 and 17, Bixby residents and utility customers will be able to dispose of unwanted items at the landfill for no charge with a show of their City of Bixby utility bill or driver's license bearing an address within the Bixby city limits.
City officials recommend loads in trucks and trailers be covered and secured to keep them from blowing out onto roadways and creating traffic hazards.
They add that items such as air conditioners and refrigerators containing Freon refrigerant will be not be accepted. Additionally, a $2 fee will be accessed for each discarded tire to cover state fees for disposal and recycling of tires.
The Quarry Landfill, located at the Quarry-Waste Management sign on 13740 East 46th Street North in Tulsa, will be open from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Fridays and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
Those seeking additional information should call the City of Bixby Neighborhood Services Office at 918-366-4430 or the Quarry Landfill at 918-439-7835.
