JENKS, Okla. - Some Union Public Schools students are doing their part to help families in need this holiday season.

Manufacturing and Automotive students in the Union Career Connect program teamed up with those in the City of Tulsa Learning With a Wrench program for the Bikes for Kids holiday project. It's the third year for the project.

The students repaired and refurbished bicycles Thursday at City Cycles in Jenks. The bikes were donations from the community, and after they've been fixed up, they will be given to local families in need as gifts.

Approximately 250 bikes will be distributed to Union elementary school sites between Dec. 12 and 16.
