Barnsdall boil order lifted Saturday

BARNSDALL, Okla. - A boil order has been lifted in Barnsdale Saturday afternoon.

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality reports that the water in the town is now safe to drink.

The boil order was issued because high turbidity levels were detected.

2 Works for You investigators obtained years of water quality reports that show high levels of contaminants caused by chlorine reacting with leaves, algae, and other organic materials.

Those contaminants make it to the tap due to out-of-date equipment at the power plant.
