Broken Arrow Public Schools has confirmed the driver, who allegedly hit a student who died from her injuries, was a teacher at the student's school.

Both the student and the teacher are from the Freshman Academy.

The student, whose name has not been released, passed away a day later from her injuries.

The school is offering additional counseling services for faculty, students and parents.

“We’re making sure they have the resources they need to work through the grieving process," said Shelli Holland, Public Information Officer of Broken Arrow Public Schools.

The incident happened around 7 a.m. on Main St. near Memphis St. on Nov. 2 when a vehicle traveling southbound struck the teen who was on her skate board heading southbound as well, just “west of the centerline of Main Street,” according to the Broken Arrow Police Department.

BAPD stated on Wednesday the crash was under investigation, but it didn't suspect the driver of speeding.
