Mother arrested after toddler son suffers repeated injuries
TULSA - A toddler suffered repeated injuries at the hands of his mother, police say, who is now in jail.
In January, a pediatrician documented injuries to the 1-year-old's head, face, feet and torso and determined they were abusive in nature.
According to the police report, the baby was returned to the care of his mother with a safety plan in place.
Months later, additional injuries to the child's head were documented and a pediatrician determined the bruising on his face, abdomen, head and feet were similar to the original injuries in January.
On April 3, a CT scan was performed and the boy was determined to have a lacerated liver.
Angela Cicone, the child's mother, was the sole caregiver during the time the child was injured, police say, though she said she didn't know how the injuries occurred.
Cicone, 28, is currently on a deferred sentence for manufacturing methamphetamine, according to the police report, and she has previous felony convictions.
Cicone was arrested for child abuse and booked into the county jail on $200,000 bond.
