TULSA - The Tulsa chapter of the American Red Cross is honoring the chairman emeritus on his 100th birthday.
For more than thirty years, Robert E. Thomas has served the Tulsa Red Cross.
In the 1980's he led the campaign to build the new Red Cross headquarters building near 11th and Highway 169.
"One of my objectives was to create a building that wouldn't have to be remodeled during my lifetime." Robert E. Thomas, chairman emeritus for Tulsa Red Cross.
On the 28 of July, Thomas will turn 100 years old.
He's also the founder of Mapco and continues to work from his office on the 45th floor of the BOK tower.
