American Airlines' parent company, AMR, reports highest quarterly revenue in company's history

The parent company of American Airlines is posting its highest quarterly amount in company history.

AMR officials say the company brought in $6.5 billion in revenue between April and July.

AMR's profit was up more than $380 million from the same time last year, but the airline's bankruptcy and reorganization costs ate through all the profits.

The company reports an overall loss of $241 million.
