TULSA - A shootout at a south Tulsa apartment complex left one man dead and several people in custody Monday night.
Police got the call just before 8:30 p.m. and responded to the Regency Point apartments in the 5400 block of East 71st Street.
According to a TPD press release, four men went to the apartment complex intent on committing armed robbery.
Investigators name the suspects as Antwaun Barnhardt, 21, Kendrick Barnhardt, 18, Ernest Gauss, 19, and a fourth man known only as "Mississippi."
Officers say three of the men, Barnhardt, Barnhard, and Gauss, entered the apartment armed.
An occupant of the apartment, identified as Mason Douglas Ridout, 21, opened fire on the robbery suspects, striking Antwaun Barnhard in the neck.
The wounded man and his alleged accomplices fled the scene, and he was taken to St. Francis Hospital. Police arrived at the hospital at 9:45 p.m. to discover that the wound had proved fatal.
Detectives arrested Kendrick Barnhardt and Ernest Gauss on complaints of first-degree murder and armed robbery.
The Tulsa County District Attorney's office will review the case to determine if Rideout should face any charges in connection with the fatal shooting; police released him pending the outcome of that review.
A female occupant of the apartment was "shaken" by the incident but not injured.
