UPDATE -- In a little more than an hour, PSO went from more than 8,000 customers without electricity in Green Country to a little more than 800 Tuesday evening.

PSO spokesman Stan Whiteford said at about 7:30 p.m., the largest pocket of darkness was in the 31st and Sheridan area near Darlington Park where 200 customers were still without power. Another area he pointed out with 130 or so customers still awaiting their electricity restored was near 59th and Lewis.

The outages earlier that had thousands of customers our were mostly in the south Tulsa, Jenks and Bixby areas. The south Tulsa and Bixby outages were restored shortly after 7 p.m.

"The reason sometimes it doesn't take long to restore power like tonight is that we are able to bring it back by remotely flipping those breakers back on," said Whiteford. "It's just that simple sometimes."

PSO crews are working to restore power.
