1 injured in 4-car crash on Broken Arrow Expressway

TULSA - One person suffered minor injuries after a four-car crash on the Broken Arrow Expressway in midtown Tulsa.

It happened around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday  when a minivan broke down in the middle of the westbound lanes of the highway just east of the I-44 interchange.

Another driver stopped to help the woman get her vehicle off the road when an oncoming SUV hit the minivan.

Another vehicle hit the SUV.

Ralph Mansfield was the driver of the SUV.  He told 2NEWS it was a frightening experience.

"All I can say is thank God for seatbelts and airbags because they saved my life and everybody else's," said Mansfield.

Emergency crews shut down two of the westbound lanes of the highway for 45 minutes while they cleaned up the crash.

The driver of the minivan suffered non-life threatening injuries.
