MOORE, Okla. - One month to the day after an EF-5 tornado ripped through central Oklahoma, 2NEWS traveled back to the town of Moore to visit with residents and see how cleanup is coming along.
Anchor Breanne Palmerini and reporter Dan Pearlman spent the week after the tornado in Moore, talking to victims, walking streets cluttered with debris.
On the anniversary of the May 20 tornado, the two made their way back
Breanne visited the site where Plaza Towers Elementary School once stood. Seven children were killed there when the tornado passed through. A memorial has been erected where seven wooden crosses pay tribute to the young lives lost.
Dan visited a neighborhood just east of the destroyed Briarwood Elementary where all those students made it out safely. After the tornado, Dan spoke with a nearby resident who lost his home and everything inside. On the anniversary, we caught up with that resident to see how he is one month later.
