2013 Christmas and holiday parades, festivals around Green Country

 

 

Communities around Green Country are gearing up for their annual Christmas and holiday festivities.

Saturday, November 23

10 a.m. - Jenks Kiwanis Christmas Parade

Annual parade hosted by the Jenks Kiwanis Club will travel down Main Street from Elm to 5th Street.

Wednesday, November 27

6 p.m. -- Rhema Christmas Lights

Lights turn on Wednesday night and continue from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. through New Year's Day at Rhema Bible Church, 1025 W. Kenosha in Broken Arrow. More information at RhemaBibleChurch.com/Christmas

Friday, November 29

5 to 9 p.m. -- Woolaroc Wonderland of Lights

Exhibit opens at 5 p.m. Friday and is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 22. Admission is $4 for adults and $1 for children age 11 and under.

Saturday, November 30

6 p.m. -- Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade

Parade, with the theme "A Country Christmas Celebration," features Santa and Mrs. Claus and free goody bags for children following the event.

 

Thursday, December 5

6 p.m. -- Tulsa Christmas Parade

The second annual parade will travel down South Olympia, through the Tulsa Hills Shopping Center.

6 p.m. -- Henryetta Christmas Parade

This year's theme is "Miracle on Main Street" A drawing for the annual Christmas bucks giveaway will be at 4 p.m. at the Cowboy Heritage Park. Santa will be at the park at 5 p.m. for photos.

6 p.m. -- Tahlequah Christmas Parade of Lights

The parade route will begin at Northeastern State University and travel through downtown on Muskogee Avenue.

 

Thursday, December 12

6 p.m. -- Drumwright Community Christmas Parade

7 p.m. -- Wagoner Christmas Parade

"Candyland Christmas" will begin at North Story and head south, then west on Cherokee, south on South Main Street and turn east on Church Street.

7 p.m. -- McAlester Christmas Parade

Begins at Main and Carl Albert Parkway/US-270 and travels down 5th Street, then Choctaw. Free hot chocolate, cookies and photos with Pistol Pete will be available at the farmer's market.

 

Friday, December 13

6 p.m. -- Bixby Christmas Parade

The Rotary Club of Bixby will host the city's 11th annual parade, with the theme "A Candy Christmas,' through the downtown area. Click here for a map of the route ( http://bit.ly/I3BDgD ).

7 p.m. -- Skiatook Christmas Parade

Parade begins at Skiatook High School and travels on 4th Street toward Cherry Street and continues toward Highway 20/Rogers Boulevard and then to Broadway. Following the parade, Santa Claus's Workshop will be held at the Skiatook Community Building, 220 S. Broadway St.

 

Saturday, December 14

9 a.m. -- Owasso Christmas Parade

For the first time, the parade will be held at the Smith Farm Marketplace. The route will begin in front of Petsmart and end near Freddie's.

11 a.m. -- Collinsville Christmas Parade

The annual parade will travel down Collinsville's Main Street.

11 a.m. -- Muskogee Christmas Parade

Sponsored by Downtown Muskogee, Inc. this year's theme is "Christmas Movies." Parade begins at 7th and Okmulgee.

2 p.m. Glenpool Christmas Parade

The 23rd annual Glenpool Christmas Parade will run through downtown Glenpool (141st Street and Broadway). The parade is held in conjunction with the U.S. Marine Corps annual Toys for Tots drive. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to the Community Tree in from to Citizens Security Bank, located at 381 E. 141st) from 12 to 4 p.m.

2 p.m. -- Catoosa Christmas Parade

Hosted by the Catoosa Chamber of Commerce, the parade will begin at the high school, head north on Cherokee, and end at Oak Street. Prior to the parade, a Breakfast with Santa event will be held at the Catoosa Community Center, 105 E. Oak Street, from 7 to 11 a.m.

4 p.m. -- Mannford Christmas Parade

The parade will start at Glenndale/Greenbriar down Greenwood Avenue. Fireworks will follow at Lake Keystone.

5:30 p.m.- Bartlesville Christmas Parade

The parade is hosted by the Bartlesville Downtown Kiwanis Club and will start at Frank Phillips Boulevard and Short. View the parade route here . ( http://bit.ly/17lEPNp )

6 p.m. -- Coweta Christmas Parade and Celebration -

The parade begins at Coweta Junior High School and onto Main Street (Broadway).

6 p.m. -- Claremore Christmas Parade

P arade will start from the Claremore Expo Center and follow the designated parade route down Will Rogers Boulevard, ending at First Baptist Church.

6 p.m. -- Okmulgee Festival of Lights Parade

Traveling through downtown Okmulgee, the parade's theme is "What Christmas Means To Me."

6 p.m. -- Sapulpa Christmas Parade

The parade will travel north along Main Street and turning

east on Dewey, through historic Downtown Sapulpa, and conclude at the Sapulpa High School parking lot. The theme is "Believe in the Magic of Christmas."

6 p.m. -- Santa Claus is Coming to Town Lighted Christmas Parade -- Shidler, Okla.

Sponsored by the Shidler Area Chamber of Commerce, the parade includes music, goody bags for children, hot chocolate, apple cider and cookies.

6 p.m. -- Tulsa Downtown Parade of Lights

6 p.m. -- Chouteau Christmas Parade
