16 arrested in Tulsa during DUI Crackdown operation

TULSA - Tulsa area troopers targeted drunk drivers and other offenders during the DUI Crackdown operation along several major roads.

Troopers arrested ten people for DUI and five for drug possession, recovered three stolen vehicles and issued numerous citations.

"We consider this mission successful because there were no fatality crash victims during the time of the special emphasis.  We did respond to one single-vehicle injury collision on the IDL," Captain George Brown said.  "This crash occurred at 2:59 AM this morning and from last update, all three occupants of the vehicle are in stable condition."

Troopers concentrated along I-244, I-44, Highway 169, Highway 75 and the downtown Tulsa Inner Dispersal Loop from 7 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday.

Captain Jerry Reagan says the crackdown coincides with prom season.

"Our goal is to be extremely visible, target DUI offenders and prevent highway tragedies, which too often occur this time of year," said Reagan.
