SAND SPRINGS, Okla. - An area bridge closed Monday, marking the beginning of a year-long reconstruction project.
The Highway 151 bridge over the Keystone Dam west of Sand Springs closed at 9 a.m. as crews began work to replace the 50-year-old structure.
The project is expected to cost $15.6 million, $6 million of which was contributed by ODOT.
The closure could last up to 13 months.
Motorists can take Highway 412 or Highway 51 as detours.
