The City of Tulsa is tapping the brakes on a crucial street project on 101st between Yale and Riverside.
The city said a storm water and sanitary sewer line needed to be replaced before the widening project is completed.
An engineer with the city told 2 Works For You the pipes are old, and they don't want to take any chances spending million improving the corridor and then turn around and dig it up again.
"It is unforeseen some additional work, but really it makes sense to fix the sewers underneath before we put the new roadway on top,” said Henry Som de Cerff, and Engineer with the City of Tulsa.

She just wants to see the project finished soon.
"It’s not surprising because it’s Tulsa, city, it’s really interesting, this to me should be on the top priority list, but if you drive around anywhere it seems like they’re always busting up another intersection,” said Hudgins.
The city said the whole project should be wrapped up by September 2018.
