Haskell man identified as Friday morning crash victim south of Broken Arrow

TULSA - Broken Arrow police have identified the man killed in a fiery crash early Friday morning as a 35-year-old Haskell man.

Police say Kelley Owen Goss was driving a black 2006 Chevrolet Z71 pickup some time before 3:45 a.m. on 193rd East Avenue when the truck failed to negotiate a left-hand curve, sending he and the truck off the road and into the woods.

Goss' truck hit a guardrail and several trees before flipping and catching fire, according to the BAPD's preliminary investigation.

Police could not immediately determine whether Goss was wearing a seatbelt or if the vehicle's airbags deployed.

Investigators are still looking into the crash, but believe excessive speed, coupled with fog and a wet roadway, factored into the collision.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The area was closed to traffic all morning while police investigated and cleared the scene. It reopened around 11:30 a.m.
