JOPLIN, Mo. - This has not been the senior year most students at Joplin High School expected, but thanks to some help from volunteers, and from Hollywood, it will end like they never imagined.
"I heard that we might not have Project Prom and prom and stuff so i kind of got nervous," said Mariah Sanders.
"We lost everything in the tornado," said another Joplin student.
Now volunteers, including Katy Perry, are helping to bring the prom to Joplin.
Donations include flowers, decorations, pictures, cheap tuxedos and dresses.
Reporter Lindsay Shively was there when the seniors got the news.
We will take you back to Joplin on Wednesday night at 10 p.m. in Segment 2 for a look at the progress the city has made nine months after the tornado.
