American Cancer Society's Great American Smokeout Thursday, encourages smokers to quit

Smokers are being asked to give up the single largest preventable cause of disease and premature death in America: Tobacco.

It's used by nearly one-fifth of Americans every day.

Thursday is the Great American Smokeout , sponsored by the American Cancer Society. It's all about encouraging smokers to quit and educating everyone on the health risks and financial costs.

For example: Every cigarette smoked cuts your life expectancy by five minutes and smoking just twice a day for a year would set you back $200.
