SHAWNEE, Okla. -- Friday, a funeral was held for a slain Tecumseh, Oklahoma police officer, Justin Terney, after he was shot and killed during a traffic stop.

Flags were also flown at half-staff in Oklahoma Friday to honor officer Terney.

Oklahoma prosecutors have also charged a 35-year-old man with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Officer Terney.

Court records show Byron James Shepard of Okemah was charged Wednesday in Pottawatomie County in the shooting of Officer Terney, who died Monday after being shot Sunday. Court records don't list an attorney for Shepard.

Dashcam video released Wednesday shows the moments leading up to the fatal shooting.

Officials say Terney stopped a vehicle in which Shepard was a passenger and learned he had a warrant for his arrest. Shepard fled on foot and Terney pursued him before the two exchanged gunfire.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested for harboring a fugitive.

A candlelight vigil was held Thursday for officer Terney.
