One Goodwill branch is taking advantage of the upcoming romantic weekend and appealing to those interested in donating mementos from loves lost.
Goodwill stores in the Sarasota, Florida area are hosting an “anti-Valentine’s Day” event called “Donate your ex’s stuff.”
The idea behind the event is to encourage anyone, single or not, to bring items from their home that might have once belonged to an old flame.
“We’re telling people they can turn the hate into donate and they’ll feel great in the process,” Kelly Davis Strausbaugh, marketing and public relations coordinator for Goodwill Manasota, told ABC News.
The event is scheduled for February 15 in an effort to include anyone who suffers a breakup on the actual romantic day itself.
