Explosions rock Danlin Industries, chemical plant in Thomas, Oklahoma; no injuries reported

THOMAS, Okla. - Police and fire crews responded to a series of explosions followed by fire at Danlin Industries in Thomas, Okla. Wednesday night.

Thomas is about 90 minutes northwest of Oklahoma City.

The Danlin plant supplies chemicals to the oil industry and employs about 75 people in the town of about 1,200.

All employees had gone home before the blasts.

Michael Galloway, with Custer County Emergency Management, said the fire began around 10 p.m. and crews had it extinguished by 4 a.m.

Company officials will investigate the fire's origin and cause.

Galloway said the building is destroyed.

Some homes were evacuated as a precaution and a few roads in the immediate area were closed.  Residents have been allowed to return.

No injuries were reported.
