BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Two men were arrested Monday after they were caught allegedly stealing a shower and bathtub from a Bartlesville home.
David Michael Parker, 46, and Danny Lee Stumpff, 49, now each facing a charge of second degree burglary, posted bond Tuesday afternoon.
According to the affidavit, police at around 3:11 p.m. Monday arrived at the 1800 block of S.W. Armstrong Avenue where they spoke to the alleged victim.
The home owner told them two men — identified later as Parker and Stumpff — had stolen property from his residence. He said his daughter's boyfriend had contacted him when he saw two men taking property from inside the home.
Later when police spoke with Stumpff, Stumpff told them he had entered the home through an unlocked back door and had taken a box containing a stand-up shower and a box containing a bathtub from the residence.
He said he and Parker had carried the boxes to the driveway of the residence where he planned to load it into a vehicle.
According to police, during the interview Stumpff admitted he did not own the shower or the tub and nor did he have permission to enter the home.
During their hearings in Washington County District Court on Tuesday, the judge set their bonds to $15,000 for Parker and $10,000 for Stumpff with a condition of no contact with the alleged victim.
They are due back in court on March 16.
