Saturday afternoon victims' families will gather to remember them, as part of the 7th annual Vigil of Love for missing and murdered children and adults.

The event was started by Sheila Owen, whose daughter Latricia Fipps disappeared in 2002. Over the years, the vigil has grown to include all families who have suffered similar tragedies.

Sheila and her fellow organizers hope the vigil will comfort victims' families who may feel alone and sad this holiday season.

Owen tells 2NEWS, "I didn't think anybody understood what I was feeling, until I came to know people in the same shoes. And we all feel the same way. We all grieve, have anger and unanswered questions."

Enda Pitts daughter Tina Pitts, also known as Selwyne Richardson, disappeared three years ago. She will be a guest speaker at Saturday's vigil. She says forming friendships with other people who understand her grief has been tremendously helpful to her. "It gives me a lot of relief, just to talk to someone and know that they are walking in the same shoes I am walking in."

The vigil will be at the Lawnwood Freewill Baptist Church in West Tulsa from 1 pm to 4 pm.

The church is located at 4115 West Edison. Attendees are encouraged to bring photos of their loved ones and share their stories.
