The Tulsa police union plans to meet with Mayor Dewey Bartlett on Tuesday.
F.O.P President Phil Evans said the first meeting with the mayor since the layoffs will include talk about contract negotiations
Interim Tulsa Police Chief Chuck Jordan said this weekend he wants to put some of the 124 laid off police officers back on the street by this week.
With lower staffing levels, officers are no longer responding to non-injury collisions, fraud and forgery reports, burglary from vehicles, larceny and other minor property crimes.
Jordan said the changes are only temporary.
Meanwhile, police recruits from Texas are in Tulsa talking to the laid off officers about jobs there.
