A company spokersperson at Zeledyne Glass Company in east Tulsa tells 2NEWS today that the company will lay off 250 people temporarily.
The spokesperson says the economy is to blame.
Those employees will lose wages for three weeks.
Employees were told the layoffs will be in the automotive section of the plant and will begin December 15th through January 5th.
They were also told the layoffs are the result of lack of business.
Employees will not lose vacation but they are not being allowed to use it during the three weeks they will be without work.
Senior employees are being asked if they would take a leave of absence voluntarily.
