A Winter Storm Watch also goes into effect late tonight for SE Kansas. These watches will likely be upgraded to warnings. Please check back with us.

Today will be windy and warmer. Highs will be in the low 70s.  By tonight a storm system moves in. Expect rain and a few thunderstorms by early Saturday.

Rapidly falling temperatures expected Saturday.  The high will be reached during the early morning hours.  By afternoon we will be near freezing with wind chills in the 20s!

Rain will mix in with sleet and  snow during the day on Saturday and may collect on some grassy surfaces. Travel will likley start to deteroirate Saturday afternoon, and more so by Sunday morning. It looks like we may see bands of heavier snow develop after 6pm Saturday and snow is likely, and may be heavy at times Saturday night into Sunday morning.  4-8" of snow possible across most of the area, with some locally higher amounts possible in extreme Northeastern Oklahoma. New information is suggesting these totals may need to be increased.

As always please stay tuned.

On the upside-- the great thing about March snowfalls is that even though we get some of our heaviest snows in March, the snow rarely sticks around long. We'll be back in the 50s Monday:)

Today:
Partly cloudy, very warm and very windy.
